Mountainous views of the Rhine Valley.

The village of Brigels was founded sometime before 765 AD as Brigilo, meaning Little Town.

The native language of the area is Romanish, a direct derivative of Latin, but most also speak German. These are two of the four official languages of Switzerland, the others being French and Italian, in which many local residents are fluent. Due to Switzerland's international nature, many residents know English and many other languages. At Kistenpass, 7 languages are spoken.

The area is a sports Mecca both winter and summer, but the combination of the peaceful little village, the stunning mountain and valley scenery, and the benefits of the altitude combine to make this area one of the most relaxing and refreshing locations in Europe.
